Kingdom War: How the Weekly Server Battle Works
What Kingdom War is, how Alliance Duel feeds its points, why Friday and Saturday matter most, how to prepare, and how to stay safe if you sit a week out.

Kingdom War is the big one. It decides your server’s standing against another server each week, and it’s easy to get lost the first time you’re pulled into one. This guide explains what it is, how points get counted through Alliance Duel, the day-by-day rhythm (Friday and Saturday matter a lot more than the rest), and what to have sorted before you jump in.
If you’re sitting this week out, there’s a safety rundown at the bottom.
1. What Kingdom War is#
Every week, your entire server is matched against another server of similar age, and the two kingdoms compete head-to-head.
It runs through the Alliance Duel system. The Alliance Duel your alliance completes on your own server is what feeds points into your kingdom’s war standing. In other words, you don’t need to do anything separate to “join” Kingdom War — playing Alliance Duel well is how you contribute.
2. How points are earned#
Alliance Duel runs in phases — enhancing your Raven, alliance management, tech research, troop training, and more — completed on your own server.
Two rules shape how you should spend:
- You don’t need to win every phase. Hitting a phase’s points threshold is an automatic win for your alliance. That means unused resources can be saved for the next opponent instead of wasted — you don’t have to dump everything into every phase.
- MVPs earn bonus points. Winning a phase and becoming that phase’s MVP earns bonus points toward Kingdom War itself.
3. The weekly rhythm#
Every single day of the week carries a “plunder the opposing server” objective alongside that day’s domestic focus (the Alliance Duel phase). Most days, the domestic focus is what you’re working on. Two days stand out:
Friday#
- Plunder your assigned opponent’s server.
- Verify your 24h / 12h shields are active.
- Train heroes to fill your barracks.
- Push Raven quests and Might-boosting speedups.
Saturday — the peak#
- Shields matter more than ever.
- This is when the direct cross-server raid phase (Raid the Enemy) hits hardest. Expect real incoming attacks, not just simulated ones.
- Raid the Enemy is also the Alliance Duel phase worth the most victory points (4), so it’s the day to coordinate attacks with the alliance.
For more on surviving cross-server raids, see Invasion Day: Raid Phase Survival.
4. Before you jump in#
- Join an active alliance. Most of Kingdom War is alliance-based, and solo players get left out of the rewards entirely.
- Resource packs and speedups add points in every phase — don’t hoard them past the point they’re useful. Spend them on the phase they score in.
- Most alliances push hardest right before the server refreshes. The daily reset is when the phase settles, so plan your own last-second contribution too.
Not participating this week? How to stay safe#
Kingdom War doesn’t care whether you’re playing along — if you’re unshielded, you’re a target either way.
- Keep a shield active on your base at all times. The free 8-hour shield covers most of the danger window.
- Don’t leave troops out in the open or sitting on your alliance flag.
- Keep relocation items stocked in case your position gets found.
See The Empty Wall Paradox for what happens to your troops if you do get hit.
Quick checklist#
- Play Alliance Duel phases on the right days — that’s your Kingdom War contribution.
- Stop spending on a phase once the threshold is hit; save the rest.
- Friday: plunder, check shields, fill barracks, push Raven and Might.
- Saturday: shield up, expect real attacks, follow raid calls.
- Sitting out? Shield always on, troops home, relocators stocked.
